Rom, if you don't mind me asking, were you adopted as an infant or as an older child? The reason why I am asking, is becasue my husband is also an adoptee. He was adopted as a newborn, but found out when he was 9 years old. And yes, the happy story book ending: he had the perfect childhood and he is still very close to his parents. My husband does not feel one way or another about adoption. But, he said he will certainly be able to relate to our future children. I'm concerned about that, since we are adopting older children through foster care. He will certainly relate to being adopted, but certainly not the trauma of being bounced in and out of foster care and being removed from birthmom. But, I know my husband will have a special bond with our future kids!
