after two surgeries
We decided enough was enough after my second surgery for endometriosis. The fertility medications were making it worse and I almost lost an ovary. I was also diagnosed with a luteal phase defect.
We had decided to adopt from Russia in March of 2003 and brought our beautiful son home November 20th 2003 when he was 8 months of age. I just want others to know that there are many other options and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Vicki H Mother of Alexander |

Hi Vicky,
I also had two surgeries and the last one was 7 years ago, a hysterectomy. I was 29. I was pregnant in 1996 and lost that child and in 1997 had a total hysterectomy. Talk about a life change...at that time I didn't even want to think about adopting. It took almost 4 years before I even considered it. After much grieving, in 12/00, we were accepted for domestic adoption. In April 2002, my beautiful Hannah was born. She has been with us almost 2 years now and adopting was the best decision we have made. She is my world and has made me much happier. There really are options for bringing children into a home. Thanks for your story. Wendy (proud adoptive Mom, I love that word, Mom!) |

Wendy ,
Congratulations and thanks for your story. Adoption is the best thing I ever did. We Couldn't love our son more if he were bilogical. It is amazing! I just like to let others know there is life beyond infertility and there are options. I never thought my life could be this wonderful. Alex is such a joy. Vicki H Mom to Alex(love that word also) |
