My story
I'm new here. I thought I would share my story. I have an eight year old bio daughter. When trying to conceive a second things didn't go as planned. Eventually I was diagnosed with POF. It's been a tough road, but I'm still here to talk about it! We have been thru two failed domestic adoptions. Both were hard, but especially the first because we had the baby home with us for a few days. We are currently logged in to adopt from China. We have been waiting for almost 3 years. But- I'm pretty sure we are getting close.
I'd love to get to know all of you. I've got lots of info on adoption if anyone is interested, I've been thru lots of it! I spend a lot of time on adoption boards. I haven't really spoken to anyone else with POF, but if you have also been diagnosed with it, I'd love to chat. |

tlk74!!There are lots of amazing ladies and stories on this website! My sister and BIL adopted a girl from China in April of this year and the process took them about three years as well, so you should be getting very close! They also have two boys adopted from Kazakhstan. They are thrilled with their new addition to the family and she is an awesome kiddo and has fit in very well with her two older siblings. My husband and I are trying to decide if we should adopt. We've been through IVF once and have gone back and forth about trying a second round of IVF or adopting and we just can't seem to make up our minds. I think for us the IVF journey wiped us out emotionally and we know adoption is often a long road as well. I hope you receive news about traveling to China soon! Lisa

TLK,
I hope your baby comes soon, adoption is a long hard road, and you have been waiting a LONG time! Why is the wait so long for China right now, and do you know how much longer Guatemala will be closed? That's where we adopted our DS from, and would consider doing it again, but would LOVE to do it from there again? Wondered about it, but haven't done any research. Glad you came here. We adopted before doing IVF and it took so much stress off our journey that could have been so hard on our marriage and my self esteem! Please keep us posted on any news you hear, it's exciting!

Hello
I started working with an re and have alot working against me...endo,fibroids and last week found out that my fsh is 17. I was devastated and left her office feeling so lost. My iui was scheduled for this past tuesday and after reading many stories here I felt really hopeful!!!! Right after she does my iui she tell's me I might want to consider using donor eggs!!!!!!! What???????? Talk about bring me down again, I mean that was my very first iui why not wait until we've at least done it a few times before bringing that up. This is my first post and it feel's good getting that out. I hope everything goes smooth and quick with your adoption!! CONGRATULATIONS |

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Our LID is 3/22/06. So- it's not to far off, maybe 6-8 months. But after you have been waiting years, that is short. We are with CCAI. I have no idea why the wait is soooooooo long. When we started we were told 6-9 months. There are lots of rumors as to why, but I don't know whats true. I think the people who really know aren't talking.
Welcome Kathy- ![]() |
